After a year of negotiation, John Rhind MAR (an ex student of mine) has this to report:

John says: " am happy to report the the County Council has decided that their 'staff well being programme' should include both Reflexology and Indian Head Massage - they are one of the best employers for staff well-being.

I contacted them, visited them and explained what we could do to help reduce stress related sickness and thus save them money, apart from improving staff morale by making emplyees feel more appreciated and valued.  Kerrie (Wittred - another ex student and now a tutor at Jackie Hamilton School) attended some road shows for the council in October and questionaires were completed by all who attended our taster sessions.

The popularity of the treatmnts was demonstated in answering the question "If available in the workspace, what treatment would you like made available?" 53% asked for Indian Head Masage and 49% asked for reflexology.

The council representative has asked me to discover how it might be possible to provide these two therapies across the whole county.  The basis is yet to be agreed but it will be on condition that the council provides a suitable room free of charge to the therapist and the therapist charges the client direct so that the council is not involved in any payment transactions that might be misinterpreted as favouring any provider.

So everyone know, I am providing reflexology at County Hall and charge £10 per half hour sesion.  I tihnk that they would expect something similar elsewhere.
